Getting started
What is Afterdeck?
An AI presentation builder. You describe a deck, Agent designs it as polished web slides, and you present it live or export to Google Slides, PowerPoint, or PDF. See Welcome and How Afterdeck works.
Do I need design skills?
No. Agent handles layout, typography, and color. You describe the content and audience; it makes it look designed. You can tweak anything afterward, by hand or by asking.
Is it free to start?
Yes. New accounts get 400 free credits, enough to generate real decks, with no card required, plus 100 fresh credits every month on the Free plan. See Credits, plans & billing.
Can I turn an existing deck into a nicer one?
Yes, that's Beautify. Upload a PDF or PowerPoint and Agent rebuilds the design while keeping your content. See Beautify.
Creating decks
How long does it take to generate a deck?
Usually a minute or two. Slides stream in one at a time, and you can start editing the finished ones while the rest generate. You can even close the tab, since generation continues on the server.
Why did Agent ask me questions?
Only when an answer would meaningfully shape the deck, like tone, audience, or scope. You can answer, skip individual questions, or skip them all. If you walk away, Agent decides for you after about a minute and keeps going.
How many slides can I make?
On Auto, Agent sizes the deck to the topic. You can also set a count, up to 15 on Free, 30 on Plus, and unlimited on Pro and Max. See Creating a deck.
Editing
Can I edit a deck after it's generated?
Completely. Click any text or image to change it directly, rearrange and restyle elements, or ask Agent for bigger changes, including whole-deck edits like make it warmer. See Editing slides and Editing with Agent.
How do I redo a slide I don't like?
Ask Agent to redesign it (open the Agent panel and describe what you want), or duplicate the slide and edit the copy. If a slide came back broken during generation, it offers a free one-time retry.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Press ⌘/Ctrl+Z, or open History to restore any earlier checkpoint without losing your current work. The one exception is deleting a whole slide, which is permanent. See Version history.
Working with others
How do I share a deck?
Click Share in the editor. Invite people by email as editors or viewers, or turn on a link that anyone can open. See Sharing & live editing.
What can a viewer do versus an editor?
Viewers can view and present (read-only). Editors can also edit, comment, chat, add slides, and invite people. Owners can additionally manage access and delete the deck. Commenting requires the Editor role.
Can we edit at the same time?
Yes. Afterdeck supports live co-editing with presence, cursors, and changes that appear in real time. See Sharing & live editing.
Presenting & exporting
How do I present?
Click Present to go full-screen straight from the browser, with no export needed. There's a presenter view with your notes, a timer, and the next slide. See Presenting.
Will my deck look the same in Google Slides?
Very close. Editable content comes through as native objects and the design locks in as high-resolution art. Google strips some fonts and effects on import, so for pixel-perfect output use PDF or present from Afterdeck. See Exporting.
Can my team edit the exported deck?
Yes, that's the point. Body text, bullets, and content images come through as editable objects in PowerPoint and Google Slides. The design stays locked so it can't be broken.
Do transitions export?
No. Transitions and Magic Animate play in Present mode and shared links only; exported files are static. See Transitions.
Credits & billing
What uses credits?
Generating slides, Magic Animate, and premium Agent edits. Browsing, presenting, sharing, inline editing, Smart Transitions, and exports are free. Higher PowerPoint resolutions need a paid plan, but never credits. See Credits, plans & billing.
Do unused credits roll over?
Subscription credits refresh each billing cycle and don't roll over. Credit packs last a year and stack on your balance. Your signup credits (and the Free plan's monthly 100) never expire.
What happens if I cancel?
Your decks stay yours. Canceling takes effect right away, and your remaining credits stay usable for about a month. Some premium features become limited, but you can still open, edit, and export everything you made.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Through Stripe's secure billing portal, from the pricing page or Settings. Plan changes take effect immediately. See Credits, plans & billing.
Account & privacy
Why can't I generate yet?
If you signed up with email, confirm it first. The confirmation link unlocks credit spending. Check your inbox or spam. See Account & settings.
What are ghost decks?
Private, temporary decks that never join your library and are deleted within seven days. Good for one-off or sensitive work. Because they're temporary, they can't be shared with a link. Included with Plus and up. See Account & settings.
Can I use Afterdeck decks commercially?
Yes. Decks you generate are yours to use commercially, with no attribution required and no cap on how often you present them.
