Account & settings

Sign up, confirm your email, customize your avatar, and manage everything in Settings.

This page covers getting into Afterdeck and the settings that control your account, your avatar, and the defaults Agent uses.

Create your account

Sign up with email and password or Continue with Google. New accounts get 400 free credits to start, no card required.

If you sign up with email, we send a confirmation link. Click it before generating. Confirming your email is what unlocks credit spending, which keeps throwaway accounts from draining the free grant. (Google sign-ups are confirmed automatically.)

Sign in and passwords

Sign in with the same method you used to join. Forgot your password? Use Forgot? on the sign-in screen and we'll email a reset link. If you joined with Google and want a password too, you can add one from Settings → Account.

Settings, section by section

Open Settings from your account menu. It's organized into a few sections:

SectionWhat's there
AccountYour email, Google connection, password, sign out, and account deletion.
Profile iconYour avatar and collaboration color.
Billing & creditsYour balance, plan, renewals, and recent activity. See Billing.
GenerationDeck length and Ghost mode defaults for new decks. See Creating a deck.
AppearanceReduced motion and your default export resolution.
Help & legalLinks to docs, the help center, updates, contact, and the app version.

The top of Settings always shows your credit balance broken down by source, your plan, and when credits refresh.

Your profile and avatar

In Settings → Profile icon, design how you appear in the nav, on live cursors, in team chat, and on shared decks. Start from a ready-made look or build your own with a background, pattern, center symbol, ring, and a subtle animation. If you signed in with Google, you can use your Google photo instead.

Separately, your collaboration color is how others see your cursor and selections when you co-edit. If someone in a deck already has a near-identical color, Afterdeck nudges yours so you're always easy to tell apart. More in Sharing & live editing.

Connect Google for export

In Settings → Account you can connect a Google account so you can export decks straight to Google Slides and Drive. Afterdeck only ever touches the files it creates. You can disconnect anytime. Details in Exporting.

Privacy and Ghost mode

Your decks are private to you unless you share them. For sensitive, one-off decks, turn on Ghost mode (a toggle on the Create page, or on by default in Settings; included with Plus and up):

  • The deck is never saved to your library, so keep the tab open while you work.
  • It's automatically deleted within seven days.
  • Because it's temporary, a ghost deck can't be shared with a link.

Everything in Afterdeck travels over an encrypted connection and is stored encrypted at rest. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.

Delete your account

In Settings → Account you can permanently delete your account. This erases your decks, credits, and billing record, and cancels any subscription immediately. It can't be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. You'll confirm by typing your email.
