Version history

Undo mistakes, browse every checkpoint, and roll back to an earlier version without losing your current work.

Afterdeck keeps a safety net under everything you do. There are two layers: quick undo for the change you just made, and a full timeline of checkpoints you can revisit anytime.

Quick undo and redo

For the change you just made, use:

  • ⌘/Ctrl + Z to undo
  • ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + Z or ⌘/Ctrl + Y to redo

This covers hand edits and direct manipulations on the current slide, and snaps back instantly.

The version timeline

Click History in the top bar to open the full timeline. Afterdeck automatically saves a checkpoint whenever the deck changes, whether you edited by hand or Agent did the work.

  • The timeline on the right lists versions, grouped by day.
  • Pick any version to preview its slides in the center.
  • Turn on Highlight changes to mark exactly which slides changed in that version.

Restore an earlier version

Select a version and choose Restore. Afterdeck saves your current deck as a new version first, then switches to the one you picked.

Ask the history assistant

At the bottom of the History view is a chat that can search and explain your history in plain words:

  • "What changed in the last Agent edit?"
  • "Show only my manual edits"
  • "Preview version 2"

It can compare versions, filter the timeline, preview a past version, and even tee up a rollback for you to confirm.
