Organizing decks

My Designs is home for every deck, with workspaces, folders, search, and an assistant to keep it tidy.

Every deck you generate lands automatically in My Designs, your library. Open it from My Designs in the top navigation. As your collection grows, workspaces, folders, favorites, and search keep it manageable.

Getting around

The left rail has your main views:

  • All designs is everything you own and can reach.
  • Favorites holds the decks you've starred.
  • Shared with me collects what other people shared to you.
  • Brands opens Brand Studio.

Below those are your Workspaces and any Smart folders. Switch between a grid and list view, and sort by last edited, date created, name, or slide count.

Workspaces and folders

  • Workspaces are top-level containers, like "Q3 Pitches" or "Marketing." Everyone starts with a Default workspace.
  • Folders (and subfolders) organize decks inside a workspace.

Create either from the New menu (New deck, New folder, or New workspace). Rename and recolor folders from their menu. Move a deck by dragging its card onto a folder or workspace, or right-click and choose Move to…. Select several decks at once to move or delete them in a batch. Moves come with an Undo toast.

Find anything fast

  • Spotlight search (⌘/Ctrl + K, or just /) covers decks, folders, workspaces, and actions in one place, and remembers what you looked for last.
  • Filters narrow the grid by brand, date, or length.
  • Smart folders save a search you run often, and stay up to date as you add decks.
  • Find similar, in a deck's menu, turns up other decks with a similar look.

Favorites and deck actions

Star a deck to add it to Favorites. Each deck card's menu offers Open, Open in new tab, favorite, Move to…, Find similar, Duplicate, and Delete. Decks shared to you show Remove from my list instead of delete. Removing them never affects the owner's copy.

Sharing a workspace

Sharing a whole workspace is the easiest way to give a team access to many decks at once. Open a workspace and press Share. It works just like sharing a deck (invite by email or turn on a link, with Editor/Viewer roles).

Because of that cascade, moving a deck into a shared workspace shares it too. Afterdeck warns you before it does, so it's never a surprise.

The library assistant

At the bottom of My Designs is an assistant that can create and organize in plain words. Ask it to:

  • "Make me a deck about the Roman aqueducts" (hands off to the full create flow)
  • "Put my pitch decks into a 'Pitches' folder"
  • "Create a workspace for Q3 planning"

It can search your library, make workspaces and folders, move and rename things, set folder colors, and star decks, all while you watch. Like the editor assistant, organizing actions that involve generating a deck spend credits; tidying your library doesn't.
